 Your Rights

You have certain rights under the law in your workplace.

 Included are:

   - Weingarten rights

   - Civil rights laws

   - Wage & hour laws

   - Health & safety laws

   - American with Disabilities Act
   - Family & Medical Leave Act

Members of Teamsters Local 769 also have rights under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Collective Bargaining Agreement is a written agreement between the union and your employer, and your employer is obligated to follow the Agreement. It does not a suggest ways to handle rules and situations, but is a  binding contract that must be followed.

If you do not have a copy of the contract, ask your Shop Steward for one.

If your employer violates the contract, you have the right to file a grievance. Contact you Shop Steward with any questions or concerns you may have.
