Joe was born in Brooklyn, New York, August 9, 1954.  He graduated from High School in 1972 and attended Community College in New York. In 1974, Joe moved to Miami, Florida and decided to settle down in Sunrise.  Joe has one son, Joseph, who currently attends the University of Florida.

     Joe began working for a small industrial bakery as a fuel man.  He began fueling smaller route trucks owned by the bakery but soon took on the position as a “drop-hook”, fueling road tractors.  He later began driving tractor-trailers for the same small industrial bakery. 

     Joe’s close friend, who worked for a union company, Ryder Truck Lines at the time, insisted that Joe apply for a job at Ryder.  Joe took his advice and applied for the job. After working as a casual for Ryder for approximately two years, in 1978, Joe became a regular. After two years, Joe was laid off; and began working for various union Freight barns as a casual.  He then applied for and accepted a full time position at Allied Systems, a union Carhaul Company.  Joe became the Alternate Steward for Allied System and later became Chief Shop Steward, and remained Steward for about 10 years.

     Joe became a business agent in March of 2003.  Since that time, he has been the Business Agent for the Freight Division, the Carhaul Division, the Movie Division, and a few warehouse companies.

     Joe enjoys helping his Teamsters Brothers and Sisters.  He believes that in Unity, there is Strength and in Strength, there is Power.
